At a Glance
Except for information that must be processed to provide LianLoader’s core download functionality, this extension does not collect any other data or information.
Such necessary information is processed only on your own computer and is transferred from the browser to the LianLoader desktop application installed on your device. It is not uploaded to our servers, sold, used for advertising, or disclosed to unrelated third parties.
Information We Process
The extension processes the following information only when necessary to detect downloadable resources and perform downloads. Its use is limited to identifying downloadable resources and sending the resources you actively select to the desktop application:
| Information | When It Is Read | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Media URLs, titles, durations, and file sizes on the current page | When you browse a page containing video or other media | To list downloadable items |
| Page URL, used as Referer or Origin information | When you click Download | Some websites may reject the download request if these headers are missing |
| Cookies associated with the media domain | At the moment you click Download | Media that requires you to be signed in may return an HTTP 403 response without the required cookies |
| Browser User-Agent | When you click Download | Some websites use it to validate requests |
| Your extension settings | When you change a setting | To save your preferences |
Where This Information Goes
It is sent to only one place: the LianLoader desktop application on your own computer. It is transferred through Chrome Native Messaging, an operating-system-level interprocess communication mechanism, without being sent over the network.
- We operate no servers that receive this information.
- The extension contains no analytics, statistics, telemetry, or crash-reporting code.
- We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties.
- Cookies are not stored. They are used only as HTTP request headers for the individual download request and are discarded afterward.
To identify media resources available on the current page, the extension may send necessary resource-information requests to the website associated with the current page or to its content-delivery domains. These requests are used only to obtain media URLs and related metadata and are generally similar to requests made when the browser normally plays or displays the resource. Such requests are not sent to us or to unrelated third parties.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not record your browsing history.
- We do not read page content unrelated to downloading.
- We do not modify a webpage’s
fetch, XHR, MediaSource, or media-player objects. - We do not inject anything other than the download button.
- We do not attempt to bypass DRM protections such as Widevine or FairPlay. Protected media is shown only as “Protected.”
Why Permissions Are Required
The specific purpose of each permission is described in the permission explanation on the extension’s store listing. All requested permissions serve one purpose only: detecting downloadable media on webpages and sending it to the local desktop application for downloading.
Data Retention and Deletion
The extension stores only your settings locally. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored extension data. Download records maintained by the desktop application can be managed by you within that application.
